Re: the Valeyard taunting the Doctor in a way that seems rooted in guilt; Martin was at the 1985 meeting where Saward briefed the writers (Holmes, Martin, Jack Trevor Story, David Halliwell) that the Valeyard was the Future Doctor, same character but old, bitter corrupt. So this could well be Martin’s take on that brief.

Philip Martin wrote the big finish 'The Creed of the Kromen', one of the worst they've ever made. It's properly terrible.

(Annoyingly, it's sandwiched between two of the best audios they've ever made)

His BF work is 3 for 3 on absolutely execrable. Kromon, the audio version of the astonishingly misogynist Mission to Magnus, and the mostly-just-bad-rather-than-completely-wretched Antidote to Oblivion, which features the return of Sil and also Crozier’s daughter for some reason. It’s a pattern of stories in which the female companion is always experimented upon, transformed, fetishised for her reproductive cycle, etc. - I don’t find it too much of an issue in his TV stories but once you add these 3 it’s a very definite, and very disturbing, pattern.

God knows whether his Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arodor video thing was any good, or if Corbyn ever actually watched it at Nabil Shaban’s behest.
