Milton Johns is a master at playing weasel especially as the very noxious Derek Cassidy in Murphy's Mob. Very different to his role 3 years earlier in The Android Invasion.
One of those stories where each episode seems to have been written in half the time spent on the preceding episode. So it's like 8 days, 4 days, 2 days, 1 day, an afternoon, two hours. Thank goodness it wasn't an 8-parter. And even if it wasn't made up as they went along by GW and AR when they started, by the time they get to part 5 they are vamping wildly.
Yeah. "Starting well but gradually getting worse" is a real problem in this period, especially with Bob and Dave scripts or season finales. Armageddon Factor is the same: "Oh wow, this is actually really good! Oh, hang on. Hmm. Hmmmmm. Oh FFS."
Well, with both these years, AIUI the cost of set building increased by about 20% overnight - hence Underworld using model sets and TAF being rewritten by Tony Read so that Zeos is 'mysteriously deserted' rather than full of extras worshipping yet another computer with delusions of grandeur or whatever Bob and Dave had planned.
