While I have no desire to get into a discussion about the racism/national bigotry in TTOW-C (I even have the bloody thing muted so I can't see other people's opinions) I would suggest that while you write:
"It’s the treatment of Chinese people as if they’re an undifferentiated alien horde, with no attempt to deconstruct this."
You go on to write:
"Nicely unexpected that Chang gets one more scene – he’s an oddly sympathetic character"
Which I would suggest is an attempt to deconstruct it a little, or at least to differentiate Chang and give him some proper motivation/backstory.
