I'm hugely impressed by the metaphor/allegory in this one, it feels like a proper high-concept sci-fi story managing to tackle multiple ideas at once (the bogeyman and "saving everyone" and the clear disability angle landing on, hey, you should care for disabled people who aren't conventionally "inspiring" stories too) feels much more coherent and ambitious than "what if earth had to give the moon an abortion?"

Regarding the, frankly annoying, repeated use of "Push The Button", I remember reading an article before the series aired that listed all the songs on the TARDIS jukebox. One of which was "Push The Button" by Sugababes.

So I suspect it was leading to some kind of musical montage or similar which was cut possibly due to rights issues, or perhaps due to how close it was to The Devil's Chord in the final running order (wasn't it claimed that TDC was to be later on in the series initially?).

I liked this episode. It's very boilerplate RTD with his "this is a HOOT" hat on, but I had fun with it. It's not without its issues, but I do feel a lot of its poor reputation is more "urgh *BABIES*" than anything.
