I was ambivalent about the RTD announcement for reasons which I think many equally long-term fans are - he is, and always has been, half a Dalek since inception. To me, the villainous part isn't disability but monstrosity- he becomes the thing he creates, which then both hates and obeys him. However, it was difficult not to see Moffatt's treatment of the old nasty as being callous, even contemptuous, and the use of regeneration energy allows RTD to give Davros an exit from the chair, and dispel any uncomfortable resonance it has for the inclusive and politically correct nature of the show he now runs again.
Legs Cutaway
My title suggestion was The Dalek Master's Plan
