Yeah, I have to admit that I am rather desperately hoping that new-era RTD isn't using this "season" as a model, and definitely not this particular story which hovers near the bottom of my Tennant list (and I don't like Tennant much either anyway, which makes this story even less enjoyable.)
Yes, we don't want specials or slightly extended episode lengths, we want a proper season of *13* 42-miniute episodes (and, yes, OK, a Christmas *Day* special), the Newman and Lambert intended.
"And then as a final twist, the Doctor tries to get a couple of unemployed kids press-ganged into the army." One can only assume the right-wing bits are Roberts (the only person, I think, I ever blocked on Twitter).
As always my comments are coming late because I’m only just rewatching them now (this time with my daughter). Daniel Kaluuya being totally ignored in favour of an Eastenders actor trying to be posh made me feel quite light headed. Also, the Doctor trying to get the kids jobs in Unit having been so anti army up until that point was hilarious.
